Lookbook — shot in Umlazi
No studio and no rented backdrop. Every fit in this lookbook was photographed on the streets we walk every day — the taxi rank, the spaza, the skate spot, a backyard session on a Sunday. This is how the kasi actually wears it.

Umlazi · Durban
Umlazi Wear is a streetwear label built for the way young people in Durban actually dress. Relaxed cuts, bold print, colours that hold up in the sun — hoodies, heavyweight tees, cargos, bucket hats and tracksuits made for going out, not for sitting in a wardrobe.
The name is the address, and that matters. Umlazi is where a fit gets tested first — at the rank, outside the corner shop, on the walk to a friend's place. If it does not look right on those streets, it does not go on the rail.
I am because we are. Style moves through people here — a friend's fit, an older cousin's jacket, a photo dropped in the group chat. We design for that, not for a runway nobody walks.
Umlazi is not the backdrop to this label, it is the whole point of it. The name is the address, and we wear it loud.
No dress code and no gatekeeping. Oversized, tucked, layered or matched head to toe — however you put it together is the right way to wear it.
On the rail
Six voices from around Umlazi and Durban — students, creatives and hustlers who wear their pieces out in the open, not only for the photo.
The hoodie fits like it was cut for me. I wore it to a shoot in town and three people stopped me to ask where it is from.
The stitching is proper. I have washed my crew neck more times than I can count and it has not lost shape or colour.
Oversized that still looks sharp is hard to find. These ones sit right on the shoulder instead of swallowing you.
Loud colour, clean cut. My whole squad rocks the same tee in different sizes and we still look like six different people.
The cargo pockets are deep enough for keys, a phone and a fistful of stock. I wear them seven days a week.
Plain enough to wear with anything, detailed enough that people notice. That balance is not easy to get right.
Umlazi Wear is built in Umlazi, Durban for young adults who want their streetwear to look like them. Pick the channel that suits you.
